Graduation day for Livie

Here is Livie on April 2, her "graduation day" from the harness she wore for mild hip dysplasia. The top photo is her last minute in the harness after 7 straight weeks! (I love the first and second photos -- so typically Olivia. The girl seems tickled about everything!)

The woman with the long wavy hair is Nancy, the nice nurse at Gillette who took care of Livie each week when we visited for a hip check. Dr. Quanbeck (standing with the newly unharnessed Livie) was wonderful to work with. Livie's hips are now A-OK, and as part of standard procedure, the doctor will see Livie a few more times just to verify that all is well. Livie will see Dr. Q for the last time when she is 14 years old! (Gillette rechecks female patients before they have babies of their own.)

It's been two weeks since graduation day, and you'd never know that our girl was in a harness. She is happy and kicking and on to bigger and better things.
